About this product

Product Information

Longtime competitors Sonic and Mario can finally settle their differences (peacefully) at the 2008 Olympics in Beijing, China. The unlikely combination of Sega and Nintendo mascots results in a choice of 16 characters, eight on each side, in 16 official Olympic events. Each character has distinct ratings in speed, power, skill, and stamina, with Sonic and Shadow edging out all rivals in sheer swiftness. Single Match involves earning medals in a choice of events, while Circuit Mode has players trying to place third or better in multiple circuits spanning three to five events. Mission Mode offers an assortment of individual challenges, with each character facing six different goals to complete.

All events use the stylus and touch-screen interface in various ways. Running consists of scribbling up and down with the stylus, while jumps are initiated by drawing a line upwards or at an angle. Handheld events include skeet shooting, archery, javelin, table tennis, trampoline, vault, and two DS-exclusives: cycling and 10m platform diving. Up to four players can compete simultaneously in certain events via local multi-card play, and top scores can be posted online via Nintendo Wi-Fi Connection. Mario & Sonic at the Olympic Games for DS also includes unlockable mini-games, such as Dream Basketball, Dream Boxing, Dream Cycling, and other enhanced events.

Game in good condition. Very boring though. Not as fun as I remember. Nothing to do with seller though. Shipping was initiated soon after purchase and arrived safe and protected.

    Pretty Nice!

Game worked in my brother's 2DS, and I can't wait to play it on my DS lite when it arrives. It was both in a plastic envelope and bubble wrap, which only needed scissors to open. When I popped the game in, it was okay. The activities take some time to get used to, but are fun when you do! Overall, a great purchase.

  • O.K. Game Buy it for cheap not retail :)

I think this game is a lot of fun! There are lots of different olympic events like swimming, track and field, cycling, and table tennis just to name a few. The events are very realistic to real olympic events. You get to compete for medals and be any character that you want! There are also eight dream events that you have to try to unlock. That is the one problem I have found with this game. The dream events are very hard to unlock. I have unlocked some of them, but I have tried everything I can think of to unlock the others but nothing seems to work. But overall, this is a fun game and definately worth buying!

  • Mario & Sonic at the Olympic Games Ds

I lOve this game, is a great game for children 5+ and for adults is really fun. Mario, sonic , luigi, peach, warrio, shadow, etc. have to compete in different olympic sports, like 100m run, trampolin, basketball, etc. and in order to open more levels in the game, the character you're playing with has to get 3rd place or better at the end of the competitions. Like i said is fun fun fun, my son was asking for it, and now this is his favorite ds game until now..

  • Not SEGA's best, but the future series have really improved

The 1st olympic Mario and Sonic game i played was the London Olympic games demo, so I thought that I would try the past ones, and I truly hated this one. The graphics are ok, but the controls were practically unbearable! I played it for about an hour, and I just could not continue. SEGA has really improved on the series since this one tough, and I really enjoyed the London olympic games demo, and i plan on buying it as soon as I can. So Im happy to see that SEGA has learned a lot from their mistakes. But I do plan on reselling this one.

  • great game and my grandson loves Sonic
