Real World Golf lives up to its name by incorporating a new technology designed to track the motion involved with swinging a golf club. Instead of tapping buttons or nudging an analog stick, players instead grip a miniature, dual-sided club replica and perform a real-time swing in front of the television screen. The included 3D motion-sensing device, dubbed the Gametrak controller, is positioned on the floor and purportedly detects speeds of up to 2000 mph and movements as slight as 1mm. Players can therefore adjust the club's head at different angles to generate loft, backspin, draw, hooks, and slices.<br><br>The game itself features ten 18-hole courses, three adjustable skill levels, and multiple play modes, including tournament, championship, training, and party options. The latter consists of mini-games that range from smashing a series of windows to hitting a giant dartboard for points. Traditional game formats include stroke, match, and skins play against a choice of computer or human opponents. Up to four players are supported by either sharing the equipment or by hooking up a second Gametrak controller. In-game driving ranges, putting greens, and video tutorials are included to help new users adjust to the unusual control scheme.

Interesting concept
I am a 5 handicap golfer and wanted something to have some fun at home. This game definitely will get your heart pumping as you swing over and over again in a quick fashion rather than a lengthy round of golf. The graphics are alright and the gae play is quick and easy. I was worried about the cords breaking, but after snapping a few bad swings off they stayed in place and intact. The only bad comment I have about this is that I hit my driver a LONG way on the golf course, on the game - only 245 yrds. That is non-sense. It seems to limit the actual realism by turning your typical distances into a formulated and restricted amount. After playing the game for about three hours, the handicap everyone starts out at (20) was lowered. Amazingly, the game rated me a 4 handicap even though I ... For the price compared to the other simulator on the market, this is definitely a better deal and relatively very realistic.

I like that it was a very good price but I do have the occasional problem with the game not working. That is usually fixed with a restart though nothing major. It is nice to be able to get some swings in before going to actually play a round. Help with not getting so sore the day after playing a round but that is probably due to only playing a round 2 or 3 times a year as well. Overall it is a pretty fun game if you just like to golf, no thrills and graphics are not great.I like that it was a very good price but I do have the occasional problem with the game not working. Cheap motion play golf for PS2 . . .
This is a fun thing to try but I honestly wouldn't spend much more than $20.00 or so for it. It is quite inaccurate at times and club face detection can be a rather large problem leading to huge slice/hooks using even amateur club settings. My suggestion would be to get Tiger Woods on the Wii system but if you only have a PS2, or want something cheap, this is the ticket for you.

This is an excellent buy, because you can saves tons of money by going to the driving range on the game instead of the golf course. This is a bonus for those who want to play golf all year round. It has helped me tremendously in my real golf game, a plus for any beginner to golf.
