      Great Easy to use Product

      I'm a maintanceman at a large apartment complex, and when a tenants electric bill is higher then they think it should be, then I use this to show them that our property i.e. refrigerator, garbage disposal etc. is working correctly. Because most tenants do not understand watts, amps, or how things work, my tools need to be simple and easy for them to understand. This Amp meter fits the bill perfectly, and I've checked it against the manufacturing tags and its right on the money. I highly recommend this meter to check appliance draw.

      LCD display could be clearer...

      Good: It instantly reads the current draw in either amps or watts. Not so good: There is a decimal point in the display when reading in amps (which I prefer over watts since the number doesn't change so frequently or dramatically). The difficulty is the decimal point appears somewhere between 'can barely see it in the right light' to 'where IS the decimal point'. The numbers display clearly; it's very hard to see the decimal point to be able to interpret the amps being reported.

      Great product for my purpose.

      I wanted this tester to check many items in my house to get relatively accurate estimates on power draw so that I could make a better informed decision on the size of the portable generator I might need for power outages. The one feature that I wish this tester had is a peak watt/amp draw reading in addition to the live draw reading.

      A pretty good meter for the money

      This wattmeter is great for helping you figure out demand against your generator or even how much power your microwave actually pulls. I would give it five stars but another one of these meters had a wire come unsoldered inside that rendered the meter inoperative til I opened it up and resoldered the wire.

      It does exactly what it’s designed to do works good. I used it to check the watts and amps draw on some circuits in my house to set up a transfer switch and generator to run the house when power is lost.
