The high-flying gameplay of Tony Hawk's skateboarding goes underground as this Game Boy Advance release joins its console cousins in the series' fifth full title. Unlike earlier versions of Tony Hawk's Pro Skater, Tony Hawk's Underground (T.H.U.G.) focuses on player-developed characters instead of big-name stars of the sport, allowing handheld gamers to custom design their own personas and then steer their advancement through an open-ended system of stat-rewarding challenges.<br><br>Similar to the earlier Vicarious Visions-developed Tony Hawk games for GBA, this handheld version of T.H.U.G. offers players a "three-quarters" isometric view of the action. New characters begin in a suburban neighborhood, where they gradually learn trick move combinations through practice and experimentation, and increase their abilities as certain challenges are met. Later levels are set in gritty, urban locales that continue to encourage exploration and player-determined character development.

'Good' Average Handheld Game
This is an 'average' game with a 'good' rating. Many familiar with the franchise will be familiar with the high-scoring tricks like manuals and grind combinations, which are one of the most easily-executed and feature moves of this game. It is a top-down perspective which may look a little crumby on screenshots, but plays surprisingly smoothly. The levels are monotonous and senseless and do not really pick up the same city-feel as the console versions, which holds this game back a bit. The Jackass cast that it uses (similar to NHLPA games using big name players in their games) are corny, but funny to see how they were used ~10 years ago. I give this game a good rating because of its pick-up-and play value - easily used for 2 minutes of instant fun - which is a key feature in a ... This is an 'average' game with a 'good' rating. Great for what it is
Exactly what I expected from this game. Graphics are good, and it is easy to use. Bought for my 2 and 3 year olds Gameboy Advances. Very durrable, since they like to throw things across the room! My 9 year old daughter can also put it in her DS.

I purchased this game for my son for his birthday. He says, "It's way better than the graphics on Tony Hawk's Underground 2. The missions/challenges are fun and easy, with the exception of a few that seem impossible to beat. There are plenty of challenges to complete. Some of the missions seem pretty realistic. I like the music. It's hard to get bored with this game. I think you will like it.I purchased this game for my son for his birthday. I liked the game overall. I think that the tony hawk's games are awesome!!! I like the way that tony hawk does some action moves throughout the games. I opwn the tony hawk's proskater#4 is also awesome to play. both games are excellent to play. will look for future game boy just like this one to purchase.

Fun Game
My boys have enjoyed this game. I bought the game because they like the Game Cube version and I thought they would enjoy this one as well. I also liked the great price I got.
