" Forbidden Rites lays a solid foundation for future research on this topic and establishes a very high scholarly standard." --Frank Klaassen Canadian Journal of History, " Forbidden Rites opens a window onto aspects of late-medieval religion and culture that have often been hidden in the shadows. • Not Just for Practitioners

As somewhat of snob regarding most books about magic, I have been pleasantly surprised by this one. It's a fairly in-depth examination of not just a fairly well-preserved necromancy text, but also the social, cultural, and psychological impact it and other manuscripts of that ilk made on the people at that time. Keeping that in mind, this is definitely not just a book for people that are into occultism; it's also a favorable find for anyone that has a love of history or early books. All in all, it's informative without being dry and very well-researched. A definite must for any necromancer.
