About this product

Product Information

Filmmaker and poet, urban critic and political theorist, adventurer and activist extraordinaire during Paris's May 1968 uprisings, Debord was simultaneously behind and ahead of his times. Best-known as guru of the avant-garde revolutionary movement the Situationist International (1957-72), and for a classic indictment of post-war capitalist consumerism The Society of the Spectacle (1967), Debord's life and work remains fascinating to this day.

Reviews
This aberrant and playful book would almost certainly have pleased its subject. And for us, who have survived Debord's dire prophesies, it's like a happy accident, a flashing chance-encounter, a bit before dawn. To be read., Writing a good biography, like Andy Merrifield's Guy Debord, requires a balance of humility and hubris . . . I recommend that anyone who reads The Society of the Spectaclealso check out this biography . . . Merrifield captures much of what what is left unsaid about Debord, the happiness and melancholy that are abstractly present beneath the surface of his political theories., "This aberrant and playful book would almost certainly have pleased its subject. And for us, who have survived Debord''s dire prophesies, it''s like a happy accident, a flashing chance-encounter, a bit before dawn. For a peek into what made this brilliant revolutionary tick, read Merrifield''s book."-- Maximum Rock N Roll, "A good biography . . . captures Debord's fascination with plumbing history in an effort to supersede the present. . . . Product is 95% alike picture but a little more blurry. Controller play well but had a notice from psn that my joypad wasn't authentic and could by problematic🤷‍♂️ no trouble so far! Shipping was fast but no tracking and worst packaging ever.. like the box came banged up... send a question to seller never had a reply 😅.... Good product overall, excellent price, fast shipping, wrapped only on 4 sides out of 6, no tracking and never reply... 4★ product / 2★ seller ✌️

The book is in perfect condition, brand new, and is exactly as described. This item is difficult to find here, and the seller priced it very reasonably. It shipped from the UK to Canada, and unfortunately took a little longer to arrive than the seller hoped, but it was shipped less than 24 hours after I purchased. When I contacted the seller, they were very responsive and helpful. I would not hesitate to purchase from this seller again. Definitely recommend!
