    Amber Rules

    This book absolutely kills me, I love historical fiction and this one is the best ever. First read it in junior high school in the fifties, when we had to secretly pass it around. It is still fabulous. And the copy I received from this company was PERFECT, no marks on it at all, I was VERY happy about that!

    A formerly banned book classic...

    When I found out that this classic was once a 'banned' book for it's explicit sexual content well...I thought it must be REALLY good! Despite the fact that the book is 900+ pages it is an excellent period piece set in 1660's London. I couldn't help likening the story between "Fatal Attraction" and "Dangerous Liasons". It is riveting as the reader follows Amber as a young 16 year old girl to her mid-twenties. I truly had to put my personal feelings aside for Amber as her true character emerges: self-absorbed, greedy, and shallow. And yet, she will surprise you too. Especially how she displays her excellent nursing and housekeeping skills during the Plague when she nurses Bruce back to health (and he in return). While the drama of Amber and her elusive love Bruce drags on there is a myriad ...

    The best of the best for romance or period novel readers.

    I first read this book about 20 years ago. Since then I have read it at least three more times. If you like the historical romance books that are being published now you should really give this a look. The story line and attention to detail is fantastic. The story takes you on the journey of Amber from her tragic birth to her unending quest to climb the social ladder of the King Charles court. The novel was banned when it was first published for it's too bold content but by todays standard it's more entertaining than shocking. Try it you will like it.

    This is the only romance novel you'll ever have to read because this is the one that started them all and no other has ever come close. One of the most entertaining reads you'll ever have.

    A very good book!

    What I loved about this book, besides it being so intirely long, was that it was romantic & it had its drama moments in it. Disliked?? Hmmmm... Thats hard, besides disliking that the main character was a slut who was sleeping w/like every guy she came in contact with!! I mean except whenever she had her main guy around she would never sleep w/anybody else, but him & be around him... All & all it was a very good book, it kept me glued to the floor, or bed or couch or whereever I was reading it... Its a type of book I would read again!!
