About this product

Product Information

Taking place in the year 2014, Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon: Advanced Warfighter 2 finds the Ghost team once again fighting rebels from Mexico, only this time it's on the U.S. border between El Paso and Juárez. In order to prevent an imminent attack on American soil, players must lead a four-man team on an 11-mission campaign, with battles taking place in mountainous regions, deserts, rural areas, and small towns. A sophisticated graphics engine incorporates such elements as real-time day and night cycles, a dynamic weather system, and destructible environments.

The artificial intelligence of computer-controlled teammates has been an area of focus for this installment, with two new orders available to squad commanders: recon and assault. Issuing the recon order will have troops gathering intelligence and only attacking an enemy if fired upon, while the assault order has soldiers concentrating all their firepower on a specific target. The game also does away with the checkpoint system, allowing players to save their mission progress at any time instead of at specific intervals.

As players issue commands to their squad and carefully plan out their attacks, they can once again rely on CrossCom technology to view the battlefield from the eyes of their soldiers. CrossCom 2.0 lets players expand the picture-in-picture display to a full-screen view for a more detailed look at the environment. A tactical approach is essential, as rebels will not only attempt to flank your outnumbered squad on the ground, but they will also take advantage of elevated positions for sniper fire.

To help improve your team's chance of success, air strikes can be called, mobile cover can be utilized, and weapons can be replenished with unmanned artillery mules. Each squad member can also be healed directly on the battlefield with the new medic soldier class. Online matches are also included for up to 16 players on a choice of 18 maps. Clan support, dynamic spawn points, and a six-level co-op campaign are just a few of the new online features in store for PlayStation 3 owners.

  • Very good!

I chose the "good" rating only because "excellent" is a bit too much. I give this game a 4.5. It is a very good game. Ghost Recon exceptionally blends realism, strategy, weapons, action, and difficulty together. The game has a wide selection of weapons, from machine guns to missle launchers. The game also has a wide variety of tools, such as UAV drones, transporters, (MULES), and a cross-com interface that allows you to direct your teammates. This game also makes you use your mind, not just your trigger finger. For an example, in one level you must destroy remaining wreckage of a helicopter, heavily guarded by enemies, by yourself, in the late-evening, dark enough when you really can't see, but light enough your night-vision goggles do not work. To get out of that mission alive, you must ...

  • Great Game!

The game is great and I stood up all night playing it until I beat the game. Thats how addicted to the game I was. I took me about 10 hours to beat it. Might take you more or less depending on your abilitly to addapt to the game. The game has amazing graphics and attention to detail and the fact that you and your crew are so interactive with eachother and the surroundings that it makes the game even more fun. The only downfall I thought of the game was the online play. I never got into a round cause if an online game is in play already than you have to wait till the match is over which can take minutes to an hour. I would've liked it more if I can jump in the game at any moment with any time left ....doesn't matter! Besides that, this is a great game and I defintely recommend it.

  • Great graphics

I am new to the PS3 [and gaming] world, so consider this a newbies perspective. This is the 3rd FPS game I have played [COD 3 and Rainbow 6 Vegas were the first two]. The graphics in this game are incredible. The detail is light years ahead of the first two I played. That being said, I actually enjoyed the first two more. They were more straight forward shoot 'em up games. This one is more about telling your squad what to do than about actually doing it yourself. The weapons and support equipment in this game are time consuming. You spend most of your time telling your squad, the observation drone, supply mule, etc. where to go. For the graphics, this game deserves 7 stars, for the game play it gets 3.

  • As good as it should be: the best of Tom Clancy on PS3

I bought Ghost Recon 2 because I love Tom Clancy series, I played on PS2 and now I can played on PS3. The game is amazing, although the grafics and sound are outdated (the game was released in 2007) the storyline is real master piece, with the best of technologic war on urban warfare. But the multplayer mode is not as good as I hope, the grafics decrease and the splitscreen seens to be a PS2 game. If you are looking for hours of online action, the endless combat, that is not the best choice. But if you are a fan of a dense warfare story, not that cheap crap we are used to find in videogames, that is what you are looking for!
