About this product

Product Information

Homosexuality is often seen as a purely urban experience, far removed from rural and small-town life. ""Farm Boys"" undermines that cliche by telling the stories of more than three dozen gay men, ranging in age from 24 to 84, who grew up in farm families in the midwestern United States.

Product is 95% alike picture but a little more blurry. Controller play well but had a notice from psn that my joypad wasn't authentic and could by problematic🤷‍♂️ no trouble so far! Shipping was fast but no tracking and worst packaging ever.. like the box came banged up... send a question to seller never had a reply 😅.... Good product overall, excellent price, fast shipping, wrapped only on 4 sides out of 6, no tracking and never reply... 4★ product / 2★ seller ✌️

The book is in perfect condition, brand new, and is exactly as described. This item is difficult to find here, and the seller priced it very reasonably. It shipped from the UK to Canada, and unfortunately took a little longer to arrive than the seller hoped, but it was shipped less than 24 hours after I purchased. When I contacted the seller, they were very responsive and helpful. I would not hesitate to purchase from this seller again. Definitely recommend!

  • Born To Blush Unseen

This book moved me. It is a precise concise documentation of a series of compilation story/interview that would have been unheard of if not for the insightful conceptual idea of Will Fellows that unsettles as it expands our understanding of gay identity and American culture in the twentieth century. The matter of fact tongue in cheek rough-hewn quality of the narratives brings us an aura that is quite powerful and poignant, conveying the desolateness of isolation and the inner strength of self-reliance. These are excerpts of three dozen interviews conducted with gay men ranging from age 24 to 84 that are natives in the remote areas of the Midwest, unraveling a more hidden aspect of the gay experience. The stories are very touching and also deeply disturbing as the men recall the rigid ...

  • DOWN ON THE FARM

A great collection of stories about gay men growing up on Midwestern farms and beyond. Farmers, corn-fed and husky are a dying breed in American Culture. More often large companies are buying up the farms and mass producing our common staples. With that said, the gay farmer is even more rare, like the white albino tree frog, I found as a boy. This poor frog, which was more yellow than white- stuck out like a sore thumb. Birds of prey and other predators could pick at it easily. A gay youth growing up as a farmer stands out like that old tree frog. These short stories are a tribute to the gay culture that remains often hidden in small town U.S.A. These men share there very human stories of survival wit and wisdom in times and places that didn't embrace the gay male persona and ...
