The Hungarian Vizsla has been through considerable cross-breeding; it is believed to have received its rusty brown coat color from the Turkish Quail-hunting dogs and its pointer capabilities from the German and English breeds. It is a medium sized dog breed that has its upsides and downsides. Typically a short-haired, non-shedding breed, the Hungarian Vizsla owns a majestic personality and charm. They cannot work in guardian roles; however, they make amazingly loving companions for their owners. They are generally sociable and blend in well with children, animals and other dogs. The Hungarian Vizsla is called Velcro for a reason - they like being around their masters. They will do tricks and follow orders meticulously to receive praise.
