Almost a home run........
Kiss will always hold a special place with me being the first concert I ever went to at age 11 (in 1977, Raleigh NC).... So when my son (age 5) asked for a CD of their music for his first player I came to the shocking realization I had NO DIGITAL KISS... only records and cassettes! I bought this because it contained most of my old faves going back from the first album through the disjointed "Elder" effort (although the excellent track "I" is not included here).... For the most part a good overview of the first "makeup" years. My only real complaint is the inclusion of so much "Dynasty" era pop sounding crap with no counter balance from the awesome "Creatures of the Night".... In fact, there are NO tracks from "C.O.T.N" included!! How can you have a Kiss overview of any real creditability ... Now if someone would kindly explain to me why these guys (and Cheap Trick) are not in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame I would greatly appreciate it!

I purchased this cd because it is the most cohesive collection of kiss songs that i've seen covering the 'make-up years' from 1974-82, at least in a 2-cd set...and there are quite a few greatest hits sets out there. It is by no means perfect, but very close. There are some tracks I could do without such as Anything for my baby, Do you love me, and the 4 songs from the solo albums, and some tracks I wish were there in their place such as Rocket Ride, Strange Ways, and the studio version of Rock Bottom. Nevertheless, the selection nicely represents all of KISS's albums from 1974-82 including 5 tracks from the first album, half of Destroyer, the 4th album side of Alive! and a couple of tracks each from Dynasty and the often-panned (but underrated) Unmasked. Another nice addition is ...
