Bare Bones Mummy Movie... but Good Anyway
Am a big fan of 1930s to 1950s Monsters and Sci Fi movies (even MST3K's are wonderful additions to the collection ... and very often, the WORSE the movie is, the BETTER it is). Abbott and Costello monster vehicles ought to be part of any Frankenstein, Mummy, Wolfman and Dracula collection ... and they are dreadful in a wonderful sort of way. I bought this DVD for my personal collection and the picture and sound are great. Nice production. Was dismayed that the 'bonus' features are very weak... don't expect anything interesting like what is on the 'regular' Universal Monster DVDs... no 'making of' or any other features on A & C Meet the Mummy... just the movie. No bonus features to speak of apart from a couple 'still' views of ... Great quality of picture and sound. And a very funny story, with Abbott & Costello at there very best. You have to own this one. One of my favorite movies.

Abbott and Costello Meet the Mummy...Why Not?
Abbott and Costello's LAST meet the monster saga, and their last production for Universal Studios is still pretty good. A step or so lower in budget as compared to their earlier films, but filled with some great character actors, including legendary bad girl Marie Windsor who has plans for Lou..... The Mummy does suffer from a bad make up job (NO LON CHANEY HERE), still fun to watch with a host of A&C one liners and pratfalls, mostly done by Costello in full retreat from the bad guys. It was a older movie, recently turned to dvd.
It was purchased for my brother's birthday. While we were visiting, we spoke about older movies, we'd like to see in dvd. He said this title, I found it on dvd and purchased it for him. He was very surprised and asked me where did I find it, on ebay! He loved it!!! I watched it, I did enjoy it. You have to remember with older movies, they are not the same quality as we're used to. Especially black and white movies. I did not mind, it was as I remembered it, when I was little. I was very glad they made abbott and costello's movies into dvd format.
