No regrets
Yes, the manual is in Japanese and warranty coverage is valid only over there. So far, no problems at all and the risk has been worth the $450 cost savings. Recently I see the price here in the States has approached this price. And that makes it a questionable purchase.

Great HF Transceiver in any class.
Great HF rig with top of the line front end receiver. Offers full TX flexibility and internal tuner matches most close loads. Good value for Ham Radio work including great DX results with a simple dipole wire in the trees.
