Like a breath of fresh air in a country music vein!
This album by John Prine features a bevy of well known female country musicians singing duets with John about lovers whose relationships have crumbled into dust. I especially enjoyed "Whose Gonna Take the Garbage Out" and "Mr. and Mrs. Used To Be", both with Iris DeMent. Great album and highly recommended for country music fans!

Warmed Over Soup Still Delicious
One of the many "old sayings" my Grandmother would use was "Warmed Over Soup Never Tastes As Good". This was used whenever a couple who had split up, tried a second time to work things out. Well, in most cases, Grandma was right. And, in most cases, sequels to albums (or movies) are rarely as good as the original. In this case, however, John Prine and his talented guests have equaled his first duet collection, In Spite Of Ourselves. Yes, John's age & health have not helped his voice, but no one ever bought a John Prine album to hold them over till the next Pavarotti dropped. Prine's ability to pick out great songs to cover is nearly as good as hearing his own compositions. Some of these have long been forgotten, but all of them are worthwhile.
