Arranged in 10 chapters and an epilogue, the book presents a chronology of Corning's majorchallenges through the years, with each chapter focused on an issue of import for the firm during a particular era. ... this story left me amazed at the zeal with which the leadership at Corning ... supported innovation with investments even in the most trying of times ... a well written andfascinating history of one of the world's most innovative organizations."--Personnel Psychology, Corning and the Craft of Innovation is a book of far-reaching significance for historians of business and technology. Not only do Graham and Shuldiner provide a wealth of information on the role of Corning and materials research in major technological developments of the twentieth century, but they also advance our understanding of the relationship between innovation and corporate strategy in medium-sized speciality firms ... conceptually innovative and should hold great appeal for business historians ... well conceived and worthy of the attention of a broad audience., 'Drawing on detailed and painstaking research this book provides a full account of how a company constructs and reinforces key routines which enable it to manage and develop innovation.'Technovation'The examples of Corning's early interest in creating the right environment for innovation - and fitting scientific breakthroughs to the needs of the market place - shine through in Margaret Graham's and Alec Shuldiner's thoughtful history of the company.'Peter Marsh, Financial Times'the book provides plenty of evidence to contradict the many commentators who even now use the term "knowledge economy" to refer exclusively to the exploits of businesses concerned with computers and information technology - excluding from this the activities of older-established companies such as Corning'Peter Marsh, Financial Times'This book is more than a typical corporate biography ... the authors concern throughout is to identify the essential ingredients that have made Corning so innovative for so long.'The Economist, Drawing on detailed and painstaking research it provides a full account of how a company constructs and reinforces key routines which enable it to manage and develop innovation ... of immense relevance to other firms as an account of how innovation management evolves and can be nurtured., "I was delighted at the rigor and relative completeness of [this]corporate history. ... Product is 95% alike picture but a little more blurry. Controller play well but had a notice from psn that my joypad wasn't authentic and could by problematic🤷‍♂️ no trouble so far! Shipping was fast but no tracking and worst packaging ever.. like the box came banged up... send a question to seller never had a reply 😅.... Good product overall, excellent price, fast shipping, wrapped only on 4 sides out of 6, no tracking and never reply... 4★ product / 2★ seller ✌️

The book is in perfect condition, brand new, and is exactly as described. This item is difficult to find here, and the seller priced it very reasonably. It shipped from the UK to Canada, and unfortunately took a little longer to arrive than the seller hoped, but it was shipped less than 24 hours after I purchased. When I contacted the seller, they were very responsive and helpful. I would not hesitate to purchase from this seller again. Definitely recommend!
