Hands down one of the BEST

I have been installing LAN/WLAN equipment for many years, AP's included. This is by far the easiest installation to date. The equipment is top notch and the software although a bit techie (for some people, I'm sure) is very easy to understand. It lets you do firmware updates on all your AP's from one central location without any hassles. You can see stats for each point and see who is connect and how much bandwidth is being used...just to name a few features. I will NOT be buying any other brands in the near future, unless I have no choice. I will simply wait and see if they "catch up" to Ubiquity before going back to other brand AP's. Highly recommended !!!

2.4 only, and support is at end of life

Will work fine if you are ok without 5Ghz, and do not intend to ever upgrade firmware. I did have some issues with the configuration as it arrived, and I needed to connect directly to my computer in order to ssh in and reset. After that, DHCP worked, and I got it adopted. My fault for purchasing without research, but if I had known the limitations, I would not have bought this.

  • Awesome upgrade for home network

These are outdated and aren't getting any more updates from the manufacturer. However, having 2-3 of these around your house will make your Wi-Fi SO MUCH better than your one lonely router by itself. The downside is that really, to use them as intended, you need to have their management software running at all times. Ubiquiti intends for you to buy one of their "network key" devices, which is just a small computer that runs their management software. You can run it on a Raspberry PI with Linux, or on a Windows or Mac machine- it's flexible how it runs, but you have to run it somewhere. That's how the configuration interface works- there's no config interface running on these individual devices. Ubiquiti "Network Manager" configs the whole network as a unit and sort of obscures the settings ...

  • Nice Unit, Easy Set Up

Easy install even for home network! Had it up and running within 20 minutes. Wifi signal very strong and has great distance around the house. This unit being mounted in the garage is excellent for the Roku TV, PlayStation, Laptop, Ryobi GDO, cell phone etc. The management interface works very well. Contains more info than I will ever use but nice. In fact, this unit was so easy to setup, think I will buy another for use in the house!

  • Data in the sky!

I bought this for my apartment. Great Access Point, good range. Setup is easy for someone with IT and network knowledge, would not recommend for someone with no experience in this area. Software is great and does NOT require a machine that is constantly on for the access point to run. I run it on a laptop which is usually asleep unless I am on it, and the software doesn't run unless I turn it on. Have had no problems using it in this way, and the only downside is that the analytics do not accrue unless the software is running which is fine for my setup. The range is good - covers my entire single floor apartment, albeit with lower bit rates towards either end. This is understandable considering it is mostly masonry and plaster old walls. It is mounted centrally in the apartment on the ...
