About this product

Product Information

To complete Evergrace, players will need to take the roles of both major characters, Uterald and Sharuami. Although the two characters move through different timelines in different worlds while solving puzzles and fighting evil creatures, both must complete their quests before ultimate victory is achieved. Equipment management adds depth to the game and actually affects the character's physical appearance. Magic Palmira crystals, which have different effects depending on how they are used, add a degree of strategy for the role-player.

  • Lots of potential, doesn't Deliver.

The story is honestly the best part, and even that isn't that great. The graphics and control for this are horrible. If you are used to the newer stuff, this game is going to be hard to swallow. This game apparently was meant to be on the Playstation 1, but was rushed last minute to the ps2. It shows. The game has some mediocre voice work. This game did have some interesting aspects. The equipment system had a lot of potential, but it leaves much to be desired. If you like a good story, but mediocre game, go ahead and buy it. If you are used to epic story lines, great graphics, this is not for you.

  • This music doesn’t deserve to die here

It’s a first generation PlayStation 2 game so I wasn’t expecting the moon but, it really is an unplayable mess. Clunky controls, no enemy lock on, sparse environments and boring level up system with tedious puzzles. The game’s saving grace is the surprisingly fantastic soundtrack. A mixture of western tribal with eastern classical makes for an almost unworldly beautiful melody. Get the ost and skip the game.

  • Explore From Software's early beginnings!

Classic from software, worth the low price to see the early beginnings of this groundbreaking studio! Rough around the edges, as this is an early Ps2 game, but fun to explore.

  • Launch title that has aged well

When I hear the term "launch title", I tend to associate with very average, bland, by-the-numbers kind of games. And, in most cases this is certainly true. There are exceptions, however, and thankfully Evergrace (2000) for the Playstation 2 is one of those exceptions. Some of you may be familiar with the King's Field series of games spanning both the Playstation 1 and PS2. Evergrace was developed by the same company; From Software. Noting their heritage, I expected a hardcore, 1st-person RPG in a rather bleak fantasy-type setting, that did not lead you by the nose through the game. Instead, From tends to create games that just throw you into their worlds and let you figure it out for yourself with nothing but your own wit to see you through to the end. Well, I was wrong to stereotype ...

  • Good game.

Evergrace is from the creators of Demon's Souls, Dark Souls and BloodBourne. Kuon and King's Field 1, 2 & 3 and Shadow Tower. Evergrace is a RPG but nowhere near as difficult as their other games. It is a decent RPG.
