    Dinosaurs Divorce

    I have a four year old soon to be step daughter. When her mother started bad mouthing the little one's dad and me I looked all over for books on familys of all types there were none, and the stores around here didnt even sell books for young kids on divorce! Though my research I came across this one and decided to get it although it wasn t what I was looking for it did touch on a lot of points that she was going though. I love that the characters are dinosaurs and very cute cartoons, she had great pics to look at while we read it together.It made a not so easy subject easy to talk about and afterwards she could ask questions about how the "dinosaurs" felt. I still havnt found a book on extended familys for little ones (her mother told her we were not her real family and we never will ...

    Cute and concise…

    My kids enjoyed this. It’s broken down nicely. I wish there was a simpler version for kids in kindergarten. I don’t know about the adults “drinking” bit but overall good. A version in Spanish would great.

    Terribel book, read before buying.

    I bought this book for my son while going through a divorce, I would not even let him look at it. The picture described mothers drinking and taking prescription drugs. It also had some violent pictures where the [parents were screaming at each other. A better book is "It's not your fault KOKO bear". I bought that book at the same time and read it with my son after throwing this terrible mess of a book in the trash.

    Used with 2nd grade children of divorced parents

    I bought this book to read to a group of 2nd graders of divorced parents. I plan on reading the sections of the book that correspond to the topic of our therapy sessions. The book addresses many of issues that are important (e.g. feelings, step-parents, etc). I recommend this book.
