Well made BUT.
This is a nice disk and no record is needed on the table to use since it is the same weight. However, you better already know how to use one of these because there is no instructions whatsoever. I still don't know how to use the alignment side. After going on line I found you have to hold a florescent light over it to check speed. Maybe everybody already knows this but I didn't. As far as how to use the other side, I'm still researching. I should not have to do this. It's annoying. Considering the cost of the thing it should have instructions. I bought it to check speed, does that correctly.
I thought my TT sounded slightly slow, but it was all in my head. The TT is dead on speed with no drift at all. A fluorescent light can do the job but clearer is a neon bulb in a dim lit or dark area. I made my own "strobe" by putting a white LED in series with a 240K resistor assembled on an old two wire AC power lead. It is a hobby type LED, nothing special. Or you could use any color but the disc is white so it shows better? Still best used in dim light. The protractor looks like the typical cart alignment type. Where you set the cartridge to be square in both grids. You can go to vinylengine website and they have info on using protractors to set up a cart. Maybe will use it for that someday. BTW 33 1/3 LP speed in 60 Hz. USA power is the outside ring of the three inner ones. ... I thought my TT sounded slightly slow, but it was all in my head. Nice setup disk.
Very nicely made and quality printed. Easy to read and to check speed - all you need is Stroboscope for iPhone or Android. The only thing that missing are setup instructions for proper cartridge alignment.
