This movie is very lighthearted and has Bill Murray at his best with supporting actors who are hysterically funny. The movie is escapism at its best. Its very suitable for all ages.

"Stripes" -- Comedy vs. the Armed Forces
It starts off with John Winger (Bill Murray) losing his girlfriend, job, and apartment. He then talks his best friend (Harold Ramis) in to joining the Army with him. Way over their heads, they eventually learn the "Army way" and manage to take a top-secret U.S. recreational vehicle, with a couple of beautiful women MP's, behind the iron curtain on a road trip. I've purchased this movie, "Stripes," for the reason of memorabilia. It being filmed in Louisville & Fort Knox (Kentucky) which brings back old memories. In the movie its self, military protocol isn't followed well, yet the humor is well enjoyed. Just as an example, when the graduating classes (Basic Training/BCT) were on the parade ground and here come's up Bill Murray & misfits. Their demonstration certainly was laughable but ...
