About this product

Product Information

Scott Bakula (STAR TREK - ENTERPRISE) stars as brilliant scientist Sam Beckett, who in experimenting with time travel, loses himself in a perpetual warp that catapults him into the bodies and lives of random people throughout time. While he temporarily inhabits a person's body, Sam also must solve a problem or mystery in that person's life (the solving of which triggers another jump). Continually trying to find a way to his home time, Sam has the help of Rear Admiral Albert "Al" Calavicci (Dean Stockwell), who appears, only to Sam, in hologram form, and the supercomputer Ziggy (voiced by Deborah Pratt), which provides clues for solving each episode's mystery. This program contains the complete first season of the series.

  • Quantum Leap season 1 DVD's

Quantum Leap is one of my favorite TV shows. I can't imagine having one season and not having all of them... starting with season 1. Watching other seasons without this one would be like joining in the middle of a converstaion. I had heard that some of the original music was replaced on some of the seasons because of some copyright thing. This made me hesitate to buy, but in the end I chose to buy the series sets anyway. It was the only way to have them. I don't regret buying them and didn't miss the omitted or replaced music. Do some research to make sure I am correct about the music. Others say that region 2 has the original music, so if you have a player that plays region 2 DVD's, you are set. Either way, it is still a great set. Quantum Leap is a daring sci-fi series that depicts the ...

  • One of the ten best TV shows of all time!

Sam Beckett has a date with destiny. Where will he end up next? Get ready to join Dr. Sam Beckett on the adventure of many lifetimes! Who will he be this time? Mafia hitman, Air Force test pilot, professional boxer. Sam does it all in Season One of the groundbreaking, 5-time Emmy award winning series, "Quantum Leap". Scott Bakula plays Sam Beckett, a time traveler who never knows whose body he is going to "leap" into next, and at what moment in history he may find himself. Sam is joined by a helpful but easily distracted holographic guide, Al (Dean Stockwell), who assists him on his missions and aids Sam in his ultimate goal of returning to his own life in the present. Bonus features include "A Kiss With History: Remembering Quantum Leap", in which series stars Bakula and Stockwell, along ...

  • Quantum Leap DVD series-A great quality family show!

I remember seeing and enjoying this series years ago. I bought it now to enjoy with my children who, like me, also love it. Sam Becket, played by Scott Backula (now stars in Enterprise) is a mild mannered quantum physics genius with limited memory of his past before leaping. He has the help of Al, his faithful hologram assistant to help guide him on missions they believe are controlled by God. The series is based on Sam fixing things that once when wrong in personal lives of the people he leaps into. It captured my attention years ago not only because it was a fresh concept of leaping through time, but also because they weren't afraid to address controversial issues but was careful to be factual in content. Unique in this series is the fact that Sam can only leap within his own ...

  • ....oh boy.....

I've always loved Quantum Leap. It's definately on my list of favorite TV shows, probably ranked at two or three. It has everything: "fencing, fighting, torture, revenge, giants, monsters, chases, escapes, true love, miracles..." (quoted from the Princess Bride). Scott Bakula and Dean Stockwell are amazing in it! I must admit, the animation in it isn't quite as good as I remembered when I was younger. I also must say it's a shame the first season is only 9 episodes long (but when you consider each episode is a little under an hour long, that ain't bad!). Then there's the whole futuristic year 2000 in it... for future reference (to any and all movie makers who will never read this) - if you're going futuristic, go BIG! Don't expect flying cars and light up shoes 20-30 years in the ...

  • Teri Hatcher as Sam's Girlfriend

I First Noticed Teri Hatcher.... in the Quantum Leap TV Show as the girlfriend of Dr Sam Beckett, (Scott Bakula), in an early 1989 episode. By the time Quantum Leap needed her back for the Donna Eleese role, she had gone on to playing Katherine 'Kiki" Tango in the TV series 'Tango & Cash'. She went on to play Lois Lane in the TV series 'Lois and Clark, the New Adventures of Superman', as pictured to the left. Today we all know her as playing Susan in the hit TV show 'Desperate Housewives' ! I thought her performance in Quantum Leap was excellent, and when the girlfriend was shown again, I was disappointed it was not her playing the role. Teri studied ballet, was a cheerleader with the San Francisco 49ers, among other things, before turning actress. Teri's early reknown was for the ...
