Rembert, Citadel Class of 1961, taught English at The Citadel for 41 years, at Jesus College, Cambridge while doing research in England, and in China during a year's Fulbright Lectureship. He has two Ph.Ds. in English, one from UNC-Chapel Hill and one from Cambridge University in England. He was given the Palmetto Award by The Citadel Board of Visitors after his retirement. Professor Rembert in the 1960s was an Infantry Officer, airborne (paratrooper), Army Ranger, & Operational Detachment-A [A-Team] Commander, U.S. Army 11th Special Forces Group (Airborne).
