Reviews
The understated quality of this nominally realistic yet strangely allegorical short novel contributes to Holy Week's mesmerizing power." — Magill Book Reviews, "Creates in one slim volume a vivid world peopled by believable and sympathetic characters whose lives depict with gripping accuracy an entire historical era.... Urgently recommended to all readers with an interest in world history."-- Library Journal, starred review, "There is among people no greater or more absolute dividing line than between the happiness of some and the suffering of others. Affairs great and small divide people, yet none so sharply as the inequality of fate."-from Holy Week, A tight, dramatic novel.... If its immediacy proved off-putting to contemporary readers, today that urgency is its greatest strength." — Nextbook, The relentless conflicts between and within these characters transform what appears to be a simple issue of national neglect into a hauntingly real drama of agonizing personal decisions and personal failures." — Virginia Quarterly Review, "With the first English edition of Holy Week -- a tightly wound story that can be devoured in one long sitting -- we can at last discover a little-known work from one of Poland's leading 20th century novelists.... Holy Week -- ably translated by a team of (University of Pittsburgh) students under the guidance of Oscar Swan -- has an immediacy and verisimilitude impossible for someone not on the scene."-- Los Angeles Times Book Review, Andrzejewski here turns an unsparing eye on the ways in which professed Christians dealt with—or failed to address—the annihilation of their Jewish compatriots.... The world Andrzejewski conjures here may be relentlessly grim, but his tale is, as always, compelling." — BookForum , Dec/Jan 2007, There is among people no greater or more absolutedividing line than between the happiness of some and the suffering of others. Product is 95% alike picture but a little more blurry. Controller play well but had a notice from psn that my joypad wasn't authentic and could by problematic🤷‍♂️ no trouble so far! Shipping was fast but no tracking and worst packaging ever.. like the box came banged up... send a question to seller never had a reply 😅.... Good product overall, excellent price, fast shipping, wrapped only on 4 sides out of 6, no tracking and never reply... 4★ product / 2★ seller ✌️

The book is in perfect condition, brand new, and is exactly as described. This item is difficult to find here, and the seller priced it very reasonably. It shipped from the UK to Canada, and unfortunately took a little longer to arrive than the seller hoped, but it was shipped less than 24 hours after I purchased. When I contacted the seller, they were very responsive and helpful. I would not hesitate to purchase from this seller again. Definitely recommend!
