Arrived in good condition and loved the story.
I saw it on Cable-TV and had to have a private copy to enjoy at my leisure. The story is wonderful and the portrayal is engaging. The scenery is real and believable, which helps the plot blend seamlessly adding a 'reality' to the total story. I forget that I am watching only a movie. This makes me a feeling of seriousness and sometimes, outrageous-comedy... a feeling that I have met them, somewhere and have enjoyed their tale of life.I saw it on Cable-TV and had to have a private copy to enjoy at my leisure. Basically, everyone I know who has ever seen this movie puts it on their "top ten". Constant, unexpected scenes which will have you laughing out LOUD. The love story is simply the back-drop for a slew of hilarious characters. You will never forget Inigo Montoya after seeing this movie. There are only two profanities that I can think of (one I really could have done without: a little boy saying "Jesus" in a very disrepectful tone - but considering who produced this movie [Norman Lear] - the relative lack of profanity is really amazing). This was clearly designed to be a family film. The love story aspect will not put off anyone - not even your bug-loving, romance-hating, little boys. It's a classic tale of love and high adventure. Good guys, and Bad guys, and Giants, and Pirates, and Chases, and Cowards, and Bravery, and True Love, and most important, a Rollicking Fun movie to watch with entire family!

My favorite movie from Rob Reiner.
I love watching the princess bride, when I was a kid. Also, I’m glad to own this movie on dvd from my childhood. Yes, it comes with widescreen on 1.85:1 aspect ratio of the flat screen and I still wish they would have kept the fox logo on blu ray disc and dvd, instead of mgm logo plastered. Lastly, I’ll recommend this to my friends and family.

Princess Bride is romantic and free of profanity, nudity and all that cable junk.
Lots of friends had this in their "guilty pleasures" collections, so I needed one of my own. Glad I bought it and can share viewing with soe "oldsters".
