About this product

Product Information

From Rumer Godden, one of the foremost authors of the 20th century, and illustrated by two-time Caldecott Honor recipient Tasha Tudor, comes a heartwarming tale filled with imagination and creativity that is ideal for any girl who has ever loved a doll so much that it has become real to her. For Tottie Plantaganet, a little wooden doll, belonging to Emily and Charlotte Dane is wonderful. The only thing missing is a dollhouse that Tottie and her family could call their very own. But when the dollhouse finally does arrive, Tottie's problems really begin. That dreadful doll Marchpane comes to live with them, disrupting the harmony of the Plantaganet family with her lies and conceited way. Will Tottie ever be able to call the dollhouse home? An ALA Notable Book "For little girls who love dolls, women who remember dollhouse days, and literary critics who can recognize a masterpiece."-- The New York Times Rumer Godden is the author of numerous books for children and adults, including The Story of Holly and Ivy , illustrated by Barbara Cooney, and the bestseller The Black Narcissus . Tasha Tudor has written and illustrated many books for children, including 1 is One and Mother Goose , both Caldecott Honor books.

Product is 95% alike picture but a little more blurry. Controller play well but had a notice from psn that my joypad wasn't authentic and could by problematic🤷‍♂️ no trouble so far! Shipping was fast but no tracking and worst packaging ever.. like the box came banged up... send a question to seller never had a reply 😅.... Good product overall, excellent price, fast shipping, wrapped only on 4 sides out of 6, no tracking and never reply... 4★ product / 2★ seller ✌️

The book is in perfect condition, brand new, and is exactly as described. This item is difficult to find here, and the seller priced it very reasonably. It shipped from the UK to Canada, and unfortunately took a little longer to arrive than the seller hoped, but it was shipped less than 24 hours after I purchased. When I contacted the seller, they were very responsive and helpful. I would not hesitate to purchase from this seller again. Definitely recommend!

  • A very old doll house is the setting of unfortunate events for the dolls.

This is an interesting book, written both from the perspective of the dolls as well as the two girls they live with. The doll characters are well drawn and their behavior is predictable, given what we are told about them. The girls become interested in fixing up the old doll house that once belonged to their great, great-grandmother. To make repairs, they need money and here the story takes a turn into trouble. Also, we learn that the doll house carries sad memories. In the end, the oldest girl learns a lesson from tragic events.
