About this product

Product Information

Educated in the Florence of Cosimo de' Medici, trained in knighthood at his father's mountaintop castle, Vittorio inhabits a world of courtly splendor and country pleasures--a world suddenly threatened when his entire family is confronted by an unholy power. In the midst of this upheaval, Vittorio is seduced by the beautiful and sinister vampire Ursula--setting in motion a chilling chain of events that will mark his life for eternity. Against a backdrop of the wonders--both sacred and profane--and the beauty and ferocity of Renaissance Italy, Anne Rice creates a passionate and tragic legend of doomed young love and lost innocence.

The book is in perfect condition, brand new, and is exactly as described. This item is difficult to find here, and the seller priced it very reasonably. It shipped from the UK to Canada, and unfortunately took a little longer to arrive than the seller hoped, but it was shipped less than 24 hours after I purchased. When I contacted the seller, they were very responsive and helpful. I would not hesitate to purchase from this seller again. Definitely recommend!

  • Vittorio the Vampire

ISBN 0345422392 - Some books suffer, or benefit, from the book I read just before. Vittorio seems to be one of those, following Under the Tuscan Sun, one of the most deadly boring books I've read in a while. I dubbed Vittorio "Under the Tuscan Moon" since, ironically, it too is set in Tuscany. Beyond that, I don't think the pair have anything in common. Vittorio is sixteen in 1450, when his entire family and everyone in his father's castle and the surrounding villages is killed by a groups of demons and he swears he will find a way to avenge their deaths. Ursula is among the demons and is, in fact, the one who spares his life. This is hardly the gift it might seem, as Vittorio sets out to learn more about these creatures. Ursula's developed feelings for the young man and he soon feels the ...

  • Great. Wonderful story. Ms. Rice at her best.

Vittorio is a wonderful story, well written and spellbinding. Rice keeps to the story line and doesn't wander off into weird plots and tangents or bore us to tears with obscure philosophy (Pandora is awful). Vittorio is right up there with "Lestat, the Vampire", which I consider her best book so far.

  • Speedy Read, but good

This book was a pretty fast read, because it kept me reading late into the evenings. This one will draw you in. I love how Anne Rice uses so much true history in her books; it makes everything seem that much more realistic.

  • Vittorio The Vampire

One of the Vampire Chronicles by Anne Rice, this is a excellent series of books, Anne Rice truly makes you feel for her characters,a true must read!!
