About this product

Product Information

"V.I. Warshawski is one of the best . . . smart, tough, sexy."-- Daily News (New York) "Sara Paretsky makes excellent use of local backgrounds in a carefully plotted tale of murder and great misdeeds in the world of Great Lakes cargo shipping."-- Chicago Tribune When Chicago Black Hawks hockey legend Boom Boom Warshawski slips off a wharf and drowns in Lake Michigan, his private-eye cousin questions the accidental death report and rumors of suicide. Armed with a bottle of Black Label and a Smith & Weson, V.I. follows a trail of violence and corruption to the center of the Windy City's powerful shipping industry. Dodging elaborate attempts on her life with characteristic grit and humor, the one-of-a-kind detective wends her way through a maze of grain elevators and thousand-ton freighters, ruthless businessmen and gorgeous ballerinas, to ferret out Boom Boom's killers before they phase her out of the picture--permanently. "Hard-boiled detective fiction . . . a swift-paced and engrossing read."-- The Philadelphia Inquirer "Slithers with suspense!"-- Chicago Sun-Times

Reviews
Praise for Sara Paretsky and Her Detective Series Featuring V. I. Warshawski "The best on the beat? V.I. Warshawski [is] the top of the line." -- Chicago Tribune "Who is America's most convincing and engaging professional female private eye? V.I. Warshawski, the star of Sara Paretsky's series about white-collar crime and wall-to-wall corruption in Chicago, now clearly leads the growing field." -- Entertainment Weekly "What really continues to amaze and impress about this series is V.I. herself, undoubtedly one of the best-written characters in mystery fiction." -- The Baltimore Sun "Parentsky's work does more than turn a genre upside down: Her books are beautifully paced and plotted. . . . The dialogue is fresh and smart." -- Newsweek

Product is 95% alike picture but a little more blurry. Controller play well but had a notice from psn that my joypad wasn't authentic and could by problematic🤷‍♂️ no trouble so far! Shipping was fast but no tracking and worst packaging ever.. like the box came banged up... send a question to seller never had a reply 😅.... Good product overall, excellent price, fast shipping, wrapped only on 4 sides out of 6, no tracking and never reply... 4★ product / 2★ seller ✌️

The book is in perfect condition, brand new, and is exactly as described. This item is difficult to find here, and the seller priced it very reasonably. It shipped from the UK to Canada, and unfortunately took a little longer to arrive than the seller hoped, but it was shipped less than 24 hours after I purchased. When I contacted the seller, they were very responsive and helpful. I would not hesitate to purchase from this seller again. Definitely recommend!
