About this product

Product Information

The most important works of Edmund Burke, the greatest political thinker of the past three centuries, are gathered here in one comprehensive volume. Accompanying his influential masterpiece, Reflections on the Revolution in France , is a selection of pamphlets, speeches, public letters, private correspondence and, for the first time, two important and previously uncollected early essays. Philosopher, statesman, and founder of conservatism, Burke was a dazzling orator and a visionary theorist who spent his long political career fighting abuses of power. He wrote at a time of great change, against the backdrop of the revolt of the American colonies, the expansion of the British Empire, the collapse of Ireland, and the French Revolution. Burke argued passionately in support of the American revolutionaries and in equally impassioned opposition to the horrors of the unfolding French Revolution. Making a case for upholding established rights and customs, and advocating incremental reform rather than radical revolutionary change, Burke's writings have profoundly influenced modern democracies up to the present day. Edited and Introduced by Jesse Norman.

Product is 95% alike picture but a little more blurry. Controller play well but had a notice from psn that my joypad wasn't authentic and could by problematic🤷‍♂️ no trouble so far! Shipping was fast but no tracking and worst packaging ever.. like the box came banged up... send a question to seller never had a reply 😅.... Good product overall, excellent price, fast shipping, wrapped only on 4 sides out of 6, no tracking and never reply... 4★ product / 2★ seller ✌️

The book is in perfect condition, brand new, and is exactly as described. This item is difficult to find here, and the seller priced it very reasonably. It shipped from the UK to Canada, and unfortunately took a little longer to arrive than the seller hoped, but it was shipped less than 24 hours after I purchased. When I contacted the seller, they were very responsive and helpful. I would not hesitate to purchase from this seller again. Definitely recommend!

  • Great book! (Don’t pay more than $25)

I feel like this is a classic treatise on conservative political thought. The binding was tight, the cover is beautiful. But for an eBay purchase, it was a little expensive. Still, no regrets on maki g the purchase!

  • Book Way Too Physically Small; Text Too Tiny And Pages Too Thin And Flimsy

Despite the glowing reviews on this book on the internet, despite the superficially attractive cover and layout, the bottom line on this book is absolutely not good: 1) This book is physically too small -- it needs to be wider and taller by 50% across both dimensions. 2) The text is way too small and way too tightly-packed -- I showed it to family members and they were squinting and wincing to try to read it. 3) The paper of the pages is way too thin and flimsy -- good luck writing notes in the margins and highlighting and underlining on it. My recommendation is to find another version of this book by another publisher, and don't be afraid to return the item if another publisher didn't do this book right, either.
