In Norman Jewison's 1968 crime caper, Steve McQueen stars as Thomas Crown, a rich and charming businessman--and the last person to be suspected as a bank-robbing mastermind. Faye Dunaway is Vicki Anderson, the insurance investigator assigned to the case. As Anderson proceeds in her search for the criminal, her sights become set on the millionaire thrill-seeker. The film captures McQueen near the height of his powers and popularity and was nominated for two Academy Awards: Best Original Score and Best Song ("The Windmills of Your Mind"). THE THOMAS CROWN AFFAIR was remade--starring Pierce Brosnan and Rene Russo--in 1999, with Dunaway appearing as a psychologist.

One robs banks just for kicks, and the other an insurance investigator trying to catch her elusive subject, Steve McQueen. Faye Dunaway is the classic fem fatale. Steve McQueen is her debonair single bachelor. A movie that inspired Ralph Lauren to come up with his Polo brand. Intense, thrilling, a movie with plot twists for each one who is seeking love with their equal, but refuses to compromise their freedom, even though they fall deeply in love.

    The only version to watch.....PERIOD!

    Let's be honest here. I like Renee Russo and Pierce Brosnan but the remake blew chunks compared to the original. Steve McQueen wan't known as the King of Cool without reason and Faye Dunaway was sexy as all get out for that time. Also a great stylish date movie!
