    Old SCH. miss DOD/DigiTech tuff-kool

    I am old man that is from 80's seen, I like new stuff but it's hard to beat DOD/DigiTech when they made tuff stuff and these minni craze?? I want something I can turn nobs with out turning 2-3 @ same time + never got lite on Hardwired series but I really like this pedal was just what I wanted, remember old school in your new designs please!! Analog/Digital just make it user friendly!!

    Overdrive pedal Heaven!

    I checked youtube reviews before buying the Digitech CM-2 Tube Overdrive, and all I can say is that it sounds even better than any video review. I received this a day before a gig, so tried it out at home and ended up putting it on my pedal board the next day. Here's what I've found so far. The volume knob has a lot of range and can really add a great boost. Low and High work great...instead of just rolling off the highs like a tone knob, you can actually EQ your sound. Gain has great range too, never get's to a distortion, but has the grittiest overdrive of any overdrive pedal I've used. GREAT feature is the mini toggle switch which has a CLASSIC and MODIFIED (Modern) setting. The Classic sounds a lot like a Tube Screamer, very warm and cuts the mix well. The ...

    This is my third Hardwire.....

    I play gigs every week and play every day and played over 25 years. I have owned $300 overdrives because someone said they were the best. Remind me never to do that again. While I love the Kalamazoo and My modded Boss SD-1, this OD goes to another platform, and to a clear articulate one at that. This has much more versatility and tonal options. If you can't dial in the tone you want with these active EQ's then you aren't trying or just want to fail because you are a pedal snob. It has the pushed tube sound, not heavy metal, just like the classic bands that had this tone from the fact they had to push tube amps to cover ground in the audience.     Jam out wit your clam out!

    Denied myself ever buying pedals or putting a board set together only reason being able to have all in one amps that could provide most I'd need. The quality of effect is what can be missed though. So I'm building a board now with goal of used effects that aren't/weren't boutiques and should be vintage...ish. Can get expensive real quick if trying to not spend crazy. Hoping to have a nice set without spending a litshoad of $... Ebay is always my first look. Its often like finding a treasure!

    Digitech HardWire CM-2 Tube Overdrive

    The pedal design is well thought out. Very sturdy construction. Knobs have graduated turnings. Stomplock is a very good idea - prevents the knobs from turning while your using on stage or carrying it around. Sound-wise, the classic overdrive is warm and compressed, like an old tube overdrive. The mids are slighlty boosted. Switching to modified bumps up the gain and gives it a less compressed and aggressive sound. It gets a little noisy with the gain maxed out.
