The wildly popular THOMAS THE TANK ENGINE is based on a series of books created in 1945 by Reverend Wilbert Vere Awdry to amuse his son Christopher when he was ill; Christopher later grew up to take over authorship of the series. The charming tales describe the adventures of Thomas and his friends, who live and work on the railway on the Island of Sodor. This collection features seven delightful stories, including "Too Hot for Thomas," where our hero would much prefer to be taking children to the beach instead of delivering ingredients to the ice cream factory; luckily, everyone gets a pleasant surprise! "Edward the Great" is a retelling of the classic story of the tortoise and the hare, while Percy is convinced that he's found a real treasure in "Percy & the Flying Carpet!" James learns the importance of helping others in "James Goes Too Far, and Emily gets taught a similar lesson in "Emily's Adventure" when she finds herself in need of a hand. Other episodes included are "You Can Do It Toby," "Gordon Takes Charge," and "James Goes Too Far."

Everything’s great in season 8!
This 2004 dvd contains 7 season 8 stories. And let me be clear to everybody: this season was not only the first to be made by HiT entertainment themselves, but it is the only season to be made by HiT in the pre-season 12 model era where Sharon Miller isn’t part of the production team. Which is a really good sign to be honest. This is a must have for kids of All ages, and even though today’s kids care about the CGI episodes (Both Sharon Miller & Andrew Brenner), it’ll still be fun and entertaining to watch again and again.This 2004 dvd contains 7 season 8 stories. Thomas & Friends It's great to be an engine
This disc is classic Thomas & Friends shows. My 2 1/2 year old son watches it over and over. The dvd starts quickly and offers other features.

I didn't think I would say it but the earlier Thomas is narrated soooooooooooo much better when Ringo Starr did it! The newer versions can't keep the voices straight and so on...but my son still loves it!
