    Murder On The Prowl by Rita Mae Brown (1999)

    I have read other books in this series and really like the animal interaction in the story. The animals actually have dialogue in each story. I haven't had a chance to read this book but I am looking forward to being entertained and have a chuckle. The animal twist makes it seem possible because I am an animal person and sometimes say "If my dog or horse could talk, the tales they would tell!" Rita Mae Brown books are difficult to find in second hand stores or yard sales. I don't mind buying new but they are pricey! When I was in rehab for a hip surgery their library lady told me bout this series and I was lucky to find one book at a thrift store. I decided to check e-bay for more and I found this one and others.

    Murder on the Prowl by Rita Mae Brown

    I am a real fan of the Sneaky Pie Brown books. I read them for relaxation and fun. These aren't literary giants, however, so don't be fooled. I bought this particular book because I wanted to have the entire set. It has proven to be one of my favorites. As a retired private school teacher (high school) and ex-coach, it fit my background wonderfully. Although the animals get a bit too involved in the mystery for my taste, I still enjoy reading their thoughts. If you like mysteries, animals, and getting to know various characters of a small rural community, you'll enjoy the Mrs. Murphy series.
