    A broad overview of upholstered furniture.

    This book gives a overall view of upholstery: past to present styles of furniture, fabric choice, assessing the quality of construction of an older piece, identifying the different techniques used in different pieces. It is not a a" HOW TO" book. I had not seen the book before purchasing. It's not really what I needed, but it's still a comprehensive, well written, very basic book. Numerous pictures covering a wide range of furniture style, at different stages of construction, and photographed from different angles. It has already been 13 years since this book'spublication, therefore picture quality is not as good as in more recently published books, however, it is still much better that hand drawn black and white illustrations.....
