Not for the timid
Dirty Love is not for the timid!! Typical for grossout comedy, the characters and their greatly exagerated experiences are more cartoon-like than real. Just relax and get into their fantasy world. Some nudity and sexual play involved. The story line itself is taken from real life. Girl gets dumped by her LTR and goes on the rebound seeking revenge. Deals with getting into too tight jeans, the menstrual period, having the police pull over your drunk date only to find explosives in his trunk, what's a girl to do? Anyway it's funny but in an over-the-top kind of way. An excellent choice for rainy weekend entertainment, particular if purchased used from eBay, otherwise probably not worth full retail.Dirty Love is not for the timid!! NOT a moronic sexploitation film! But very funny, very Jenny, smartly written script. If you like Jenny Mc Carthy, don't miss this film which showcases Jenny's free, emancipated, honest, tomboyish, down-to-earth spirit. It does not have any gratuitous nude scene, in fact there is only one, filmed from afar, 2second scene of blurry, partially disrobed Jenny. The film relies on the dialogues and Jenny's acting for laugh. Also, Carmen Electra is natural and funny in a supporting role. Although not a thought-provoking, philosophical film by any stretch, this movie still is surprisingly enjoyable for a mature audience.NOT a moronic sexploitation film! Jenny McCarthy Proves that she is no Dumb Blonde!
This is one of those tounge-in-cheek movies that will have you laughing and flinching. Jenny McCarthy proves that she has what it takes not only to be an effective actress in a comedy, but to coordinate a script that is so outrageous, it is hilarious. She certainly takes raunch to a new level. I felt the beginning was slow and did not promise much, but as the movie progressed, it really began to develop. Carmen Electra also proves that she has acting ability. The very talented Electra is effective and funny. I bought two DVD's, one for myself and one for a friend who recommended it for Christmas. I am constantly loaning it out to my friends to watch. It is not for everyone, either you love it or you hate it. I applaud McCarthy on this one. She's gorgeous and yet so raunchy at the same ... hysterical, I watched it 3 times in two days!
If you have ever had something embarassing happen to you on a date or just in life, then you have to see this movie. please, please don't let there be children present, it is rated R for a reason. I have not laughed this hard in a long time. And if this movie got 3 Rasberry awards, then I think I'm going to start checking out movies that got rasberries.
