    The only true working companion dimmer

    The Lutron Maestro dimmer is designed to work at multiple switch locations. Although it would work with conventional 3-way switches, in order to control dimming from remote locations, this remote dimmer is the only choice. For those who would pay the price for a Maestro dimmer, there is no reason to use a conventional switch over this.

    Good but pricy

    It works well with the Maestro master dimmer to add control at a secondary location, i.e. replacing 3-ways switches and still have dimming capability at the remote location. Your existing lighting must be wired for 3-way control. Expensive for a companion dimmer that cannot work by itself. At this price, Lutron should at least include LED indicators as on the master dimmer, which really help locating the dimmer switch in the dark.

    Not as advertised.

    Maestro says this switch works for 4-way and above switching, but it is VERY lame. I'm sure the product works well in 3 way applications.
