Wing Commander was ahead of its time.
The Wing Commander series took a big jump when it moved to the Playstation console. It was the first big budget game to incorporate movie quality scenes, using real actors, with computerized game play. The movie scenes are designed to advance the plot of the game. Each time your character is faced with a decision, the scene will freeze and you will be given two options to choose from. How you choose, determines what happens to your character as the game progresses. This makes for a wide range of potential story arcs and endings for you to choose from, meaning you could play the game several times and have completely different stories each time. The graphics of the game play itself aren't all that impressive by today's standards, but they are still more decent and don't hurt the game. ... I think this is because today's games tend to rely on graphics to impress gamers, while this game relied on plot to draw gamers in. I recommend this to anyone who enjoys a story line in their games. You won't be disappointed.

Brings back great memories!
I played WC III & IV twenty years ago on a PC, when you had to run DOS prompts to initiate the game. I loved every minute of these games! Seeing Mark Hamill was a real treat. The games are politically compelling and entertaining, with a lot of play value for the money. I was happy to find both of these games together from the same seller, here on Ebay!

A very good game for its time. It had a lot of good movie scenes and good ways to interact with the other characters. I think they could of added some more options for the gamer to choose from rather than just two. but for its time, it really set the standard for future games. The gamer choice endings are always alot of fun because it gives the gamer a unique feel for the game, rather than playing the same game everyone else has played and came out with the same result.
