Reviews
"By a generous measure , the richest American presidential autobiographyno other book tells us as vividly or fully what it is like to be president of the United States.... And he can write." --Larry McMurtry, The New York Times Book Review " My Life is, without question, the best written U.S. presidential tome of all time."  --Douglas Brinkley, Financial Times "A hell of a good story." --Frank McCourt, Entertainment Weekly "It's an almost voluptuous pleasure to read Clinton when he's recounting and analyzing a political race or a legislative battle, whether it's one of his own or somebody else's." - The New Yorker "Consistently fascinating." -- The Seattle Times "Clinton talks with disarming frankness [and] writes with grace and fluidity. . . . He is also a born storyteller." -- The New Republic "Might just be the perfect representation of the man himself." -- The Plain Dealer "Clinton has many tales to tell, particularly a rich, sometimes moving account of his years before the public life, fit for future analytical historians and biographers. . . . The personal and the political are intertwined. . . . Clinton's story very much reflects the man we know." -- The Nation "He manages to create the distinct impression that he is sitting in the living room talking to the reader. . . . Anyone who is geninely interested in American politics will find his insights and anecdotes fascinating. . . . The book helps to elucidate the question of 'how he did it.' " -- Deseret Morning News "It's a saga worthy of Cecil B. DeMille, a rags-to-riches tale full of the stuff of human frailty, with a cast of hundreds, complete with low-life villians and high-minded heroes and, as such stories require, an upbeat ending. . . . The 1990s come to life once again as a time of uncommon tumult and riveting personalities. . . . The personalities on parade are as vivid as the events." -- Newark Star-Ledger " Tremendously interesting and entertaining. . . . Clinton's is a truly American story to which the average person can relate. . . . Future politicians will find it a must-read, and average Americans will identify with the highs and lows we all experience as we make our way through life." -- Chattanooga Times Free Press "Takes readers through a strong account of the achievements and failures of his administrattion. . . . No other presidential memoir is likely to be so lively. . . . Bill Clinton is hard to dismiss, and so is an account of his extraordinary life." -- The Tennessean "A reading of MyLife is a necessity for lovers of good autobiograpy. It reads like a down-home history of a life and, thus, anchors Clinton as a superb storyteller. . . . Candid. . . . Honest. . . . Stimulating." -- Huntsville Times, "By a generous measure , the richest American presidential autobiographyno other book tells us as vividly or fully what it is like to be president of the United States.... In-depth, revealing, historical

Former President Bill Clinton writes openly, candidly, honestly and with humility. His memoirs are in-depth as he reveals and explains in great depth what he faced and what he tried and did accomplish for his fellow countrymen in America during his two terms as President. What ever our Party affiliation, these memoirs are part of America's history, giving us insight to the complexity of this Office and what these great leaders of America's past endured and how much they and their families sacrificed for their country.

  • Memoir of a Writer, Self-Critic & Beloved Statesman

Former Texas Governor of US diversity, Ann Richards, wisely said, "Bill Clinton is one smart man." His Presidential autobiography clearly reveals that truth. The US had a humble, gentle-speaking statesman at the helm who was beloved nearly throughout the world. "My Life," couldn't do a better job of reminding me of that, especially in contrast to an arrogant and supremacist Bush-led White House that is hated nearly around the world, including in the US where he can't even safely walk a city street that Pres. Clinton used to shake hands while jogging along. As Bob Dylan's oscar-winning song claims: "I used to care, but things have changed." Pres. Clinton credits his family upbringing in Hope, Ark. for his many successes. With detailed and meticulous acumen, he self-analyses numerous ...

  • A Marvelous Presidential Memoir by W.J. Clinton

Well worth waiting for, well worth reading every page, this presidential memoir is one of my all time favorites. Bill Clinton has a unique charm that comes through his writing just as it always has through his public presentations. His memoir is particularly great because Clinton is deliberately using a writing style that is accessible to the largest readership imaginable. That is typical of the former president of the US. One of his great achievements was opening up the executive branch of US government, through very effective communication, to we, the people. This memoir continues that legacy.

  • Great Reflections by a Great World Leader

When William Jefferson Clinton was the 2 term president of the United States he was truly a world leader who was admired as such by so many. Now that his successor has made a mockery of the presidency and a mess of our nation and probably much of the rest of the world as well, President Clinton's memoirs are more significant than ever. His writing makes it very clear that he's a very wise man who's quite willing to thoroughly examine both his mistakes and successes. Unlike the administrators of the executive branch of US government who followed him, President Clinton very clearly exposes that he's a man of deep conscience. This is a collectible book for one and all because it is reader-friendly. obviously, President Clinton wanted to make his memoirs available to a very wide readership, ...
