About this product

Product Information

Players can get in touch with their virtual alter egos in this platform-specific port of the popular PC sequel. Like its home computer forebear, the DS version of Sims 2 features 3D graphics and an empowering character creation system. Like earlier console and handheld interpretations of the franchise, this rendition plays more like an RPG-style adventure than a "sandbox-style" life sim, as players have clear goals which are reached by accomplishing specific tasks. Set in the extraterrestrial-friendly Strangetown, the game challenges the player's character to take charge of an abandoned hotel and help revive the area's once-bustling tourist trade.

    Good 4/5

For the price, it is a good game. I got pretty far before getting bored. The graphics are decent. The interactions are a bit different but alright. It wasn't what I expected. Overall it os an enjoyable game though.

    Something for in between games

I play a lot of games on many platforms, this game doesn’t hold my attention very well, however it is fun to play for 10-30 minutes when I’m stuck on a different game or simply want to take a break. I’m happy I got the game and I do enjoy it but it lacks content. Reminds me of night vale in a weird sense.

  • Fun Game, needed more playtesting

In this installment to the Sims line you find your character in a desert town where he/she has to fulfill many missions, interact with lots of strange characters, and ultimately build and maintain a hotel in weirdo-ville. Its cool that you get to create a character and choose how you will arrange furniture in the many rooms of your hotel. A clever aspect of this game is the game clock being based on the real time you have set on your nintendo ds. It can be a little frustrating at times since you might have to complete a mission only at night, but don't have time to play then, so you find yourself stuck for days at a point in the game. This is a fun game overall. It has a fun story line, interesting options for personal customizing, and lots to do. It is a little confusing at times, ...

  • Totally Addicting!

What I like about this game is that even my 5 year old can play it. It's definitely addicting and that could be both good and bad. My husband is always wondering what other goal could I be accomplishing this time. The downside to this game is that you have to literally check on it everyday, otherwise your guest leave your hotel and then you are left behind having to pay hundreds of dollars for the maid to clean your hotel. The whole concept is pretty neat. I'm always discovering new goals to accomplish and that is what makes it so much fun and addicting. I do highly recomend it. I can't wait to get the PS3 game for it. It's going to be pretty good, i'm pretty sure about it.

  • Sims 2 for DS a Welcome Addition

Its the first true 3-d game intry into the Sims handheld series and if you've play through Bustin Out and Urbz you'll enjoy this. The sims 2 for GB Advance is lacking but the one for DS is a huge improvement. This time around you're in Strange Town, this story however isn't a direct sequel in the way that Urbz was to Bustin Out was, or at least it doesn't seem to be. Your car breaks down in Strangetown and you've no way to fix it. A kindly older man offers to help you and suggests you stay the night in the small town's hotel. In no time you go from stranded to OWNING a hotel. The gameplay is somewhat story based like Bustin Out and Urbz and has the "sandox" play like urbz had, in that after you beat the story driven missions you can continue to play the game. The game has characters from ...
