About this product

Product Information

EA's take on Wii Sports features ten recreational sports and schoolyard activities played with child characters. Available on both Wii and DS, each version features a distinct lineup of games. Wii owners can choose from the following titles: Dodgeball, Paper Racers, Kicks, Dart Shootout, Wall Ball, Slot Car Racing, Tetherball, Free Throws, Bug Hunt, and Dribbling. Dodgeball moves from gymnasiums to the small screen, where characters fling a rubber ball to knock out members of rival teams. Paper Racers has characters tossing a paper plane and then guiding it through the air to catch power-ups, time extensions, and other surprises.

Kicks combines elements of soccer and volleyball, with characters using their feet instead of their hands to launch balls over a net and into a goal. Dart Shootout has characters shooting plunger darts at targets from a first-person perspective, with the added challenge of having to block incoming darts fired by rival children. Slot Car Racing has players guiding a toy car and quickly switching lanes to hit ramps, grab power-ups, and more. Wall Ball is racquetball played with hands instead of racquets, while Tetherball follows the real game's challenge of whacking a tethered ball past a rival so it wraps around a pole.

Bug Hunt is a race to scoop up bugs with a butterfly net, while both Dribbling and Free Throws have players using the Wii Remote to bounce or shoot basketballs, respectively. EA Playground offers four themed areas to navigate, with solo players challenging boss characters, earning experience points, and winning "marbles." Marbles allow users to purchase stickers that serve as power-ups in the multiplayer mode, where up to four friends can compete against each other in any of the available games. To simplify the action for casual players, all activities are controlled solely with the Wii Remote.

  • Very fun game!!!

This game has many different ways to play, single or with friends and family. Most of the games are easy to pick up the Wiimote and play. Controls are shown via in game animated clips to show you exactly what to "push" or how to "swing". Graphics are also good. Paper airplanes, dodge ball, soccer with the use of a net, slot cars, hoops and darts. During singles mode you have "Dares" to complete that change the rules a little bit and make the games a little more exciting. Kids as well as adults bedome very addicted due to huge singles story mode though. Collect marbles to buy stickers to unlock specials within each portion of the game. Overall I give this game a 4 out of 5.

  • EA Playground for the Wii

I bought this game for my daughter and this is what she has to say. EA Playground for the Wii is great! There are many characters to choose from and many fun games to play. The games are challenging at first but they get easier ith practice. You can play single or multi-player. It makes it more fun when you play with friends. I asked my mom to buy this game for me because I played it at my friends house and it was great. RRRiiiiinnnggg!!! Thats the bell! Have fun playing EA playground on the Wii!

  • A Playground full of fun

I was encouraged to but this by a friend who owned it for her kids. She said her husband and herself get a lot of enjoyment out of this also. This is great. In single player you walk around the playground and play games with kids like slot car racing, paper airplane flying, wall ball, soccer, dodge ball. You gather stickers and marbles and unlock other areas and games as you play. You can play with multiplayers as well and all of the games are frightening realistic as are the movements of the kids. It is that accurate you can hi five the kids and catch bugs with a net while running around. I would highly recommen this to anyone of any age. It will provide a lot of skill building, fun and even frustration and kids will be kids and they will raze you when you lose. Definately worht ...

  • EA playground

I decided to purchase this game for my 4 and 8 year old daughter for something they could play together. Been hard to find games that the 4 year old can understand and keep up with the 8 year old with out boring her. This game was perfect it was simple and easy to operate yet tons of fun for the older one had to make them turn it off almost wore it out the first week they had it. Great for rainy stuck in house days and on family night have to admit i have enjoyed it too. very highly recommend for your kids cant go wrong for any age group. My teenage nephews have come over and played numerous times too
