    A well written factual book.

    this book is written by one of the "tribe". She has been there and done it all and seen it all and KNOWS the score!! She tells the story of being a transgender woman from the inside and pulls no punches. Amazingly, she is right on target in her observations.

    Intelligent and Nuanced Introduction to Transgender Issues

    I found this a thoughtful, articulate and carefully reasoned set of essays that presents the biases that trans women (primarily trans women) face. As I'm just beginning to figure out my own way around being trans, I found this book immensely helpful. Lots of highlighting and notes in my copy; I consider this a strong start for anyone wanting to orient him- or herself to the political and cultural issues that trans people face in America (at least up to the time the book was published (2007).

    I bought this book because it is centered on the issues that effect me specifically. I like this book and it answers many questions I have been asking myself. I feel like this book is a necessity for anyone who is transgender and questioning why transgender women are viewed by society.
