Item was heavily worn with a crease in the cover. Cover illustration was from an older printing than shown due to the use of stock images. Was purchased with 2 other books. Out of the 3 books this was the only one that arrived in the package. The other 2 were missing and the seller did not respond to any of my messages regarding the missing books.

    Outstanding

Awesome book. Mandatory reading fir anyone involved with kids: teachers, child care workers,MDs, police ……. Gives such insight and understanding of the nurturing process and what happens when it is disrupted. Or in some cases absent. One of the BEST books I have read (I’m a pediatric social worker). Wish I had read it early in my career. Would have made a difference in my approach for sure.

  • Good but not exceptional

This is a good book to read if you want to stay informed, open-minded. It has a sensationalistic approach, but I'm not for sure I'd take it too seriously. It has merits, but the treatment for child PTSD wasn't very detailed and so as a reader you can't really discern if there is a comprehensive, accurate way to treat PTSD. But it does offer some insight and compassion and understanding about why a child may act out the way he/she does. I wouldn't dismiss this book, but I don't know that it'd be the first book I'd recommend for in-depth analysis of PTSD and its treatments. Check into EMDR, Mindfulness and other books on effective PTSD treatment. Overall it is a good intro into the early development and workings of the brain.

  • An Eye Opening Book

This is a great book for anyone with a loved one that is struggling in their life. It explaines a lot and is helping me to help my grandchild. An eye opening book

  • This is a really great book!

This is a really great book because it gives the reader a psychiatrist's point of view on patients. Particularly children. I have worked with children for 8 years and hope to become a counselor someday to families and children, so this was a great book to kind of get my feet wet; to see if I really enjoy reading/listening to children and their struggles.

  • The Boy Who Was Raised As A Dog

Great price for a book I only needed as reference for a class.
