Anarchy Reigns is a futuristic brawler starring a cast of 16 gritty combatants, including characters from the developer's MadWorld. You'll choose fighters from one of two opposing sides, white and black, before engaging in fast-paced battles against multiple rivals at once. The story is told through a number of cinematic cut-scenes that introduce the combatants as well as offer up some banter between faction members. In addition to the single-player campaign, which has you fighting in a number of urban areas with computer-controlled teammates, Anarchy Reigns includes deathmatch, survival, tag team, and battle royale multiplayer game types.

Anarchy Reigns: crazy, spectacular and anarchic, all you need in a fighter.
Anarchy Reigns is a product of Platinum Games, which made one of my favorite games - Bayonetta, so the purchase decision was obvious. The style of crazy, fast and meaty combat is in all of their games, and Anarchy Reigns is no exception. The combat is similar to any arcade type fighting games such as Devil May Cry, God of War, Bayonetta, etc. with some extra unique mechanics such as Killer Weapons. But the main difference is that this one has multiplayer. While the single player campaign might prove to be entertaining for a few hours with some Ok boss fights and not too fancy story, the multiplayer is where most of the fun comes from. The different characters, while having similar combination inputs, perform the combos differently and with different effects and Killer Weapons, which ... The major downsides, though, are the lack of players and lag. This game was poorly advertised, and thus didn't become quite as popular as it might have. Lag is, ofcourse, highly inconvenient in any fighting game, visual or input delay may, and will, affect the gameplay. Especially in a fast paced game like this which also allows combat against more than one opponent at a time. And, with the lack of people playing it in Europe, having to sometimes find matches in the US doesn't help the issue. Overall, the game is great and well worth the price. Especially considering that it doesn't cost as much as a full priced release.

Good combat, flows very nice
I bought this game because I love action titles from Platinum Games. The characters are very unique with fluid, smooth combat and attacks from each of them. There's a bit of a learning curve you have to take to get used to controls, but it's fine. Engaging story and fun online play makes this a great experience.
