I feel like the seller was brusque and unsympathetic to my dilemma. I had purchased the item believing it was compatible with my 12 cup model whereas nothing fit as it is designed for the 16 cup. Now I have paid, with shipping et al, almost $100 for an item I cannot use. I did not ask to return as the ad clearly stated, "No Refunds". I understand that but I didn't receive any response to my message to him relating the issue.

The buyer clearly made a mistake purchasing the item, I have no control over that she made a mistake which can happen buying an item anywhere.

    Great all a round radio

Easy to use emergency radio. Rechargeable batteries last well on receive. I wish the radios were a bit more sensitive to bring in more stations on all of the bands. Great for monitoring weather and scanning the GRMS/FRS frequencies. A++

  • Nice, affordable emergency or daily use radio.

I bought this radio for emergency communications during a power outage or other such situations. It came well-packaged and is easy to set up and operate. I like the am/fm and weather radio functions, as well as the GMRS functions which works fine with my other GMRS radios. The compact size is nice. I am not sure of the range of this radio, but close local communications are my main concern. Overall, a very nice radio with alot of functions at a very nice price.

  • A good multi-functional emergency radio:

Had a little issue with rechargeable battery pack the seller took care of right away. This base camp radio was discontinued by Midland but I don't think they knew what a great product they had. It didn't get much publicity but now these are sought after for emergency and mobile needs. It is powered via rechargeable battery pack, AA's, AC or crank dynamo which recharges the battery pack. It's also a AM/FM/Weather Bands radio, flash light and two-way (walkie-talkie) base station with 22 stations and numerous sub-stations. I'll admit it's instructions are a bit complicated as it has numerous settings but it sends and receives messages very well. Would be great camping or in emergency situations.

  • VERY fun little multi-platform electronic device

I've had my eye on this neat little radio for years now, finally decided to just go for it. I enjoy collecting nearly all kinds & types of radios, so I had to have this one. It combines a standard AM/FM radio, weather radio & FRS/GMRS two-way transceiver. The XT511 also features a bright flash light, USB charge jack and a hand crank to charge the supplied rechargeable battery. There are a few little things I'll nitpick on this, for one (and this seems to occur in most Midland FRS/GMRS radios with weather alert) the weather alert feature seems to activate for no particular reason. The USB charging jack doesn't seem to work well, I tried to charge my dead cell phone with it & gave up after 48 hours, the radio was plugged into it's power supply. I'd also ...
