The DigiTech Screamin Blues distortion guitar effect pedal was designed to honor this by achieving a wide array of guitar effects while giving the player the power to control every detail. Designed for more dynamic electric guitar players, this stomp box has a high and low tone mixer to control the feel. Strumming electric guitars lightly with low overdrive can add a subtle harmonics quality while cranking the overdrive up can add a complex, sustained tonal palette.Gain and output levels are controlled separately, unlike many pedals that use one knob, giving guitars a broader sonic range. There are two separate outputs on this device, with one being for amps and the other using Digitech's cabinet emulation. This can allow you to plug the pedal straight into a mixer board for recording without requiring an amp for power. A 9V alkaline dry battery with a continuous 18 hour life can give this pedal considerable playing duration when you're practicing or out on the road performing.The solid metal housing of the Screamin Blues can be durable enough to protect the engineered internals while being used in studio sessions or on stage. Measuring 4.2 inches long x 3 1/8 inches wide with a height of 2 1/8 inches, this compact pedal, which weighs in at less than 2 pounds, can pack more distortion than would seem possible with its portable size. A wide stomp pad can make it an easy single effect unit to switch back and forth with and not miss a note. When used with a lower setting for a subtle effect, the LED indicator light can let you know that it's enriching your playing. With its dynamic range and four adjustment knobs, this pedal is capable of a large, deep array of overall tonal characters, all powering in at 4.8 watts.Specially designed with blues in mind, cleaner sounding strings can come alive with rich harmonies by adding just a little fuzz.     Sounds very close to Boss Blues Driver; but not identical! a little more compressed and less low-mid (warmth) but very good overall!

    Sounds very close to Boss Bluse Driver; but not identical! a little more compressed and less low-mid range that gaves BD-2' warm end. very good overall. Bass and Treble controls are a plus to BD-2 but dialing a BD-2 sound out of it is tricky; you should always start from the lowest and gradually add Bass and Treble to reach the sound you want. It is true about the two other Digitechs that I own; Hot head and Grunge. If you start with everything at max then you may lose your guitar's original sound characters. The Gain works great and can clean up to only boost up to a rock-blues distortion; really amazing! this part is better than BD-2 that is not that good on the highest gain side. The distortion sound at higher gains is a bitt more compressed than Boss and to me it is nice thing and ...

    Definitely a keeper all at a bargain price.

    The Digitech Screamin' Blues distortion pedal is a very good pedal at a very good price. I heard a guitar player using it with a 50's RI Strat through a Blues Junior and it sounded really, really good so I got one and 30 something dollars later I'm very happy with it. It's especially good if your amp has a gain control or you use it in combination with another overdrive pedal. It's also a very natural sounding pedal as well ! One thing I've learned is your guitar's pickups have a huge impact on whether you'll like an OD pedal or not. Before passing judgement on this (or any other) pedal try it with low, medium, and high output pickups. All in all, you can't go wrong with this one.

    great effect for those of us that like simple great sound and you don't have to break the bank. This pedal is perfect for all types of music and able to be dialed in however... Its a great example you don't have to spend 100's of dollars for great sound

    My goodness, I love this pedal!

    Digitech pedals tend to give you complete control over your tone--on this pedal you can put the treble, bass & gain exactly where you want it to find that "sweet spot." The Screamin' blues pedal is very similar to the Boss Blues Driver (I have one of those also). You can go from a clean boost, to a tasty crunch, or crank it up all the way and (tho still bluesy) you'll get a nice classic rock overdrive that borders on a distortion pedal. I love this pedal and you will too.

    Solid distortion

    This is a great distortion pedal for the price. You can get a nice clean boosted signal, or you can get a dirty crunchy distortion if you tweak the settings just right. I'm really glad that they have a low and high EQ you can adjust. If you are looking for a light distortion that mimics a tubescreamer for a low price, i highly recommend this pedal
