    good little processor

I've just put in about three hrs. in on setting it up after watching a bunch of vids on the older and bigger ex model. Must compliment vox on this st model. it don't need reverb or delay to sound good at what it does. Im not much for effects but wanted a processor for the amps. having said that this one has decent effects they all sound good enough to me. I would use this live and that can be done if set right. i would just set it up with a clean followed by an overdrive 1 and 2 3 and 4 like that but I really have not spent enough time to figure it out. I put it through a 68 custom deluxe reverb and a boss katana and they both sounded good. I just wanted to expand on this review after spending several days more with the vox. I probably should have gave it 5 stars. I spent a lot of time ...

Bit Different from Most Stomp Boxes

I bought this just to try something different for not a lot of money. It seems skewed more toward distorted Metal sounds, but it does them well. Not sure how it would work in a live performance if one wished to make use of the built-in foot pedal. If adjustments were something you want to do on-the-fly, the unit would likely need to be off the ground where the user could dial in some desired effect. All in all, for the bucks it's a nice little unit.

  • This is a compact size pocket rocket and a keeper! Very tweakable

PREFACE: It took me about 2-3 weeks to really figure out how to use this and to decide if I was going to keep it. It's a small step down from the tone of analog pedals but it is very customizable, has a ton of good sounds and is really small. I changed the tube in mine in 10 minutes. A lot of bang for the buck. SIZE: I bought this pedal because it was small and because I'd heard one before and like it. I wanted something to carry to rehearsal along with my TECH 21 TM 10 amp that I put a 10" Ragin Cagin Delta Demon spkr in. The amp and pedal fit nicely inside a Tech 21 shoulder bag but enough about that. The pedal is smaller than I thought which I really like. CONFIGURATION: I replace the Ruby 12AX7 tube inside with a Sovtek 5751 12AX7 tube and it made the pedal ...

  • Some great feature for the money, some so-so.

A friend of mine has a similar ToneLab and I've been impressed by the sound of it. The ST I got is pretty cool, it's versatile, and the tube stage lends it a nice natural sound. Great for headphone practicing and goes direct into your DAW. Nice! Some of the effects are not great. The flanger and phaser don't sound very natural and the Univibe and Leslie sim are kinda wierd, But the pitch shifter is worth the price right there. So much fun! When it's all said and done, I guess I think it's worth having if you do recording because you really can get a lot of different tones from it, but it's too much button pushing and stuff to do anything on the fly. Setting parameters for the expression pedal and things like that takes two hands. You would need to have ...

  • Great for cleans and just breaking up amp sounds

This is a solid piece of gear with authentic tones if you take the time to make adjustments and create your own patches. The presets showcase different effects but are not the best representation of what this unit can do. The high gain sounds are very good too if you turn down the gain to reasonable levels. This is probably not the best pedal for metal. It does clean and vintage tones very well though especially straight into a PA or mixer for recording. Note: Press and hold the amp model button to access additional parameters of presence, noise reduction, and cab models which make a huge difference in the sound.
