I purchased the book "The Rescuers" (Disney version) as a gift for my cousin's daughter, Bianka, because that's the heroine's name. I met them for the first time on the tour I took to the Slovak Republic last September. The book was in OK condition, except for the names of two children printed with a marker pen, one in the front and one in the back. I used Clorox to dilute the ink. The fact that names were marked in the book was not made known in the write-up about the product. Had I known, I would have bid on another book of the same title, available at the time. Perhaps I should have thought twice about it, since it was going for a lesser price, and price was my guide. For the price it’s fine.
This item was cheap and used. I knew that when I bought it but for the price I figured it was worth the gamble. It is in pretty good shape, however, it did smell like cigarette smoke when I got it out of the package. I hate cigarette smoke, so it was a huge turn off for me. But I did let the book air out and it seems to be ok now. I would buy again considering the price was less than 5 bucks.
