  • Excellent portable recorder for a fair price

This a great recorder for high quality sound (32bit float), and a God send for one-man bands. Once you set up each channel the way you want them, you press "rec" and forget about it. With 6 inputs, it is quite small and portable.with a reassuring feel of good construction. Knobs and buttons are small and packed together but this is what makes it so portable. It is not cheap but still a little over $100 x input. Highly recommended.

  • F6 is decent

I have been using the F6 for about a month and have found it to be a joy to use. I have dedicated the F6 to being the outboard recorder for my Sound Devices 552. The SD552 has 5 direct outs and I send these direct outs straight into the F6 pre-fade. The F6 has performed well with the exception of what appears to be inconsistent levels across its inputs. When 1k tone is sent out of the 552 via line or mic through the direct outs into the inputs of the F6 and say all inputs are set to +5 dB gain internal and 0.0 knob gain there is a fair amount of inconsistency in those input levels. Channels 1 & 5 read a good 3-4 dB hotter than channels 2-4 which seem to be consistently the same. I’m a camera guy and not an audio tech so perhaps I’m doing something wrong. But I trust the output of the 552 ...

I use two of this for live music recordings. Small size and 6x2 input channels work work well.

  • Excellent Audio Recorder

I’m new into videography. At first I purchased a Rode Videomic Pro shotgun mic, which worked fairly well for my needs. The trouble was the audio was not as clear as I wanted, but most of that was my fault in not knowing the best way to use it meaning placement. Then I ordered a Zoom H5 that was better quality audio, but not crispy enough. I could do more post work to correct but I looked for an easier solution. I found my answer in the Zoom F6, which was the next step up. It is fantastic especially with the 32 bit float. I am extremely happy with this audio recorder.

  • Best filmmaking recorder on the market

This thing is incredible, provides amazing audio quality is simple to sync for time code and offers an easy intuitive interface. Five stars all around. If you’re a filmmaker looking for a great recorder with the amazing flexibility of 32bit float recording I don’t think you’ll find a better value than the F6.
