      Brand new but not great quality. Great shop though!

      This product is brand new as advertised, in perfect condition, and comes with a microphone. That being said, the quality of the tape recorder is not that good/muffled. It improves slightly when you use the plug-in microphone (which is also not good quality). Since this is newly manufactured, I wonder if older tape recorders are of better quality, when they were more mainstream? I also wonder if I get a better microphone if that will help? In any case, the shop was excellent, no complaints there!

      Mixed feelings

      A good cheap recorder that does the job adequately. When plugged in, it has a terrible noise in the background that sounds like a bad grounding. When used with C batteries, it's OK. The sound quality is OK for the price. I put not good quality because of grounding problem. Otherwise it's fine for simple recordings of voices. Don't try to record live music. The cheap microphone won't handle it. Recommended if you're on a budget. An iPhone recording is 10 times better quality.

      Cassette Player

      Bought as gift for elderly father. The button lettering needs to be larger. He can't read the Play, Rewind, Record, etc buttons; and neither could my stepmother who has better vision. He said the sound is good for a small machine. Shipping was prompt & was a good price for value.

      Able to listen to my precious cassettes!

      I had some old cassette tapes with my sons' voices as babies, little kids, etc. They were barely audible on the cassette player I already had. Didn't expect great things from this player, due to price, but was pleasantly surprised! One tape is 43 years old, and I can here every word loud and clear!
