It's a nice, compact, DVR, but...
I purchased the Aluratek ADTB01F Converter Box, and was immediatly surprised by its small size; good for someone with limited shelf space. It was easy to set up and start using, and while "playing" with it, I did notice a few things. First, the image is somewhat dim on my television, I had to increase the televisions picture brightness a little to get a better picture. My DVD player has the same problem, so, in fairness, it may be something about the HDMI inputs on my television that causes this; BUT, my DVD player has menu options for adjusting the picture quality, so I don't have to change the television's picture settings. While "surfing" up through the channels on the DVR, I discovered that sometimes when I stop at a channel, there will be no audio; I have to channel up, then ... Oddly, when "surfing" down through the channels, this problem does not occur. Related to this problem is a situation where I was preparing to watch a recorded video and when I started the video, there was no audio. I had to back all the way out to the view mode, do the channel up/down thing to restore the audio, and then I could watch the recording with the audio. The Box says "Dual Tuner", but the manual and the menus make no further mention of this; I was expecting to be able to select which tuner I record from and which tuner I watch from. I would guess one tuner is dedicated to recording, and the other is dedicated to viewing. Now, the biggest problem I ran into was the very poor contrast on some menus, such as the information menu when playing a recorded video. See the photos below. Very light gray lettering on a white background is a very bad idea, Aluratek; you need to fix this. Beyond these issues, it is a good DVR (could be better) and worth the low cost of the unit.

Could use a few refinements
The Aluratek ADTB01F is a good product, but the manual doesn’t tell some important things. Such as how to set up USB storage hard drive. The timeshift function is very nice, as you can stop a program and restart.

I used this with my Vizeo Smart TV that didnt have an antenna tuner. Hooked this up to an HD antenna and got a ton of channels. Very happy with the product. Works just like a cable box with it's own remote.
