Released on the Nintendo's early video game platform, the Nintendo Entertainment System, 'Zelda II: The Adventure of Link' returned fans to the legendary world of Hyrule. Playing again as Link, who is now aged sixteen, players were tasked with saving the eponymous Princess Zelda from a heinous sleeping spell. This addition to the series introduced a greater reliance on a side-scrolling, role-playing format. It also introduced Link's magic meter, which limited his ability to wield special powers.
